The Hong Kong Players are looking for 3 adult actors able to perform in a dramatic theatre piece.
“Home” is a story of a manipulative love triangle, located within the cramped apartments that Hong Kong is very familiar with. An emotional and raw tale of how three characters encounter the city around them and navigate challenges within their confined spaces. The play uses limited dialogue and draws its power from music, magic and symbolism.
Characters:
Character B: A silent female who finds comfort in her musical instrument. She is afraid of the outside and all the dangers that lurk there. She’s been hurt before and has trouble letting people into her life and personal space.
Character C: The evil landlord who is obsessed with Character B. Very jealous of other people claiming something he considers to be his. Will do whatever it takes to protect what he believes is rightfully his.
How to Audition …
Audition Preparation:
Please prepare a short 1 minute mime about moving into an apartment. This is open to interpretation. We are looking for physicalities as most the production is non-verbal.
Please also prepare one of the short excerpts for your character of choice.
